Traffic alert in Tel Aviv as more roads closed around Ma'ariv intersection

Heavy traffic jams are expected Sunday morning in central Tel Aviv, following expanded work on the light rail causing the closure of further streets to traffic near the Ma'ariv intersection.

The NTA, which is in charge of the construction of the light rail, closed the streets to vehicular traffic to allow the expansion of the Carlebach station excavation works. The station will be among the deepest on the "red line" of the light rail, reaching about 40 meters.

As part of the new traffic arrangements, the southern side of Menachem Begin street is closed in between Meleah street and Mazeh street. Northbound - between 1185 street (new street) until Yitzhak Sadeh street is closed to traffic. Diversions are in place.

Road 1185 has been opened to transport vehicles between Menachem Begin street and Hamisgar street.
