United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres crossed from Israel into Gaza on Wednesday morning to begin the next leg of his visit to the region.

Earlier in the day, Guterres joined Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon to take a helicopter tour to view the Israel-Gaza border.

Guterres arrived in Israel on Sunday evening for his first visit to the country in his current position. He has met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, opposition Members of Knesset, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah since his arrival.
