US President Barack Obama is expected to announce in the next few days the reinstatement of a US envoy to Syria, CNN reported Wednesday morning. "It's in our interests to have an ambassador in Syria," a senior official was quoted on CNN as saying. "We have been having more and more discussions, and we need to have someone there to engage." According to the source, the move was not linked to the crisis in Iran.
