One person was killed and some 31 people were lightly injured in an explosion at a factory in the Ramat Hovev industrial area of the Negev, near Beersheba, Army Radio reported.

Paramedics from Magen David Adom evacuated the injured to Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheba.

According to a preliminary investigation, the explosion originated in a reactor, Army Radio reported.
