Labor leader Shelly Yechimovich mourned the passing of Miriam Ben-Porat on Thursday, calling her one of the most active and idealistic figures Israeli society has known.
"Ben-Porat constituted a model for imitation, as she was the first and only woman to serve as State Comptroller," Yechimovich said.
"I am hopeful that Israel will know more impressive public figures like Ben-Porat."
