Yeshiva student arrested after attacking his teacher with rod

A haredi yeshiva student recently expelled from Jerusalem’s Yakirei Yerushalaim Yeshiva attacked the head rabbi of the school Tuesday afternoon with a metal rod in what police are deeming an act of revenge.
According to Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, the rabbi, who was lightly injured during the assault, had expelled the student days earlier for unspecified reasons.
The unidentified student was arrested at the scene after admitting to the attack and has been ordered by a judge to undergo a psychological evaluation.
Rosenfeld said the student will remain in police custody until at least Friday, pending the evaluation’s results.
