Security forces on Monday morning located the remains of a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel overnight.

The rocket was found in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council after Code Red sirens were sounded in the area shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The projectile exploded near residential homes in the area.

No injuries or damage were reported in the attack.

Earlier in the month, three rockets fired toward southern Israel from Gaza failed to reach their destination, falling inside the Palestinian territory. No injuries or damage were reported in the attacks.
