Israeli-American Natalie Portman gives birth to second child

The baby girl, Amalia, was born on February 22. It was the couples second child, their first, Aleph was born in June 2011.

Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman gave birth to her second child, with Benjamin Millepied, her husband of five years, 'People' magazine reported Friday night.
The baby girl, Amalia, was born on February 22. It was the couples second child, their first, Aleph was born in June 2011.
Natalie Portman missed the 2017 Oscars on last Sunday and the Spirit Awards the day prior because of her pregnancy, according to a statement acquired by Variety.
"Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards," Portman wrote. "I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends."
Portman was nominated for best female lead at the Spirit Awards for her portrayal of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in Pablo Larrain's "Jackie." The film is also up for best feature and editing. The same role, which has earned the actress rave reviews, also earned Portman a nomination for best actress at the Oscars. "Jackie" is also nominated for score and costume design.
"Jackie" was Portman's third Oscar nomination. She won the best actress award in 2010 for "Black Swan" and was nominated in the supporting category in 2004 for "Closer."
Portman and her husband, French dancer and her "Black Swan" co-star Benjamin Millepied,have been married since 2012 and have one son together, Aleph.
