US Envoy for Middle East negotiations Jason Greenblatt will speak at the June 16 Jerusalem Post conference. The talk will take place around the time that the Trump administration is expected to roll out its “deal of the century.”
Greenblatt will offer an inside perspective on the peace plan during his address and discuss other topics that impact the US-Israel relationship.
The 'Post' conference is just more than one month after the fatal shooting at a Chabad synagogue in Poway, California, as well.
Speaking to the post about antisemtisim, Greenblatt said, “Unfortunately, Jewish institutions and citizens have come under attack in the United States without regard to our political leadership. So, we must remain vigilant in condemning it when we see it, and in continuing to teach our children the importance of tolerance and respect.”
Greenblatt will present alongside other important US and Israeli leaders, such as Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon.
The ambassador has also been vocal in the fight against antisemtisim. Last month, when the New York Times published a cartoon  widely held to be classically antisemitic, Danon said the only way to stop antisemitism is to criminalize it.
“The time for talking and having a conversation is over,” Danon said on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council meeting. “What Israel and the Jewish community around the world demand are action - and now."
The Jerusalem Post Conference is among the most important platforms for dialogue among the movers and shakers of the region. Ronit Hasin-Hochman, CEO of The Jerusalem Post Group told the Post that, "The Jerusalem Post Conference is one of the premier events for the pro-Israel community in the United States. It attracts Israeli and American political leaders, representatives of leading Jewish organizations and people who care about the future of Israel and the Jewish people.”
The June 16 event will take place just weeks after the swearing-in of a new government in Israel. As such, many of Israel’s politicians will use the conference to share their vision for the future of the State of Israel.
Confirmed political speakers include Minister of Transportation Israel Katz, former Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman, former Minister of Education MK Gideon S’a’ar, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, Minister of Science and Technology Ofir Akunis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Hotovely, former Jerusalem Mayor and new MK Nir Barkat and more.
