Fischer Pharmaceutical co-chair and Lion of Judah Israel volunteer projects coordinator Sigal Bar-On recently hosted a delegation of women from Miami who came to Israel to examine the various Lion of Judah projects to which they contribute. They were treated to an evening dedicated to the American and Israeli members of the organization of about 18,000 women. The special evening featured a variety of opinions and ideas for various philanthropic projects, designed to empower women and girls in Israel from the social periphery, were exchanged.

Bar-On said the special connection the women share on social action, greatly strengthened Israel’s connection with the Jewish community in Miami.

“It was fascinating to hear from each of the evening’s participants about the social projects to which they are connected,” she said. “There were collaborations, and what was particularly exciting was the tremendous power that existed in the room when the members joined up to help each other’s projects. There was a wonderful atmosphere and [feeling of] mutual responsibility.”
