‘Studio Window’– Yannay’s studio window brings the outside indoors, and vice versa.

We tend to think of photography in terms of freezing a single transient moment in time. Ariel Yannay wouldn’t argue with that perception, but he is not so sure about the accuracy of the timing. That is just one of the issues he addresses with his “Fleeting Still Life” exhibition currently under way at the Hadassah Academic College, curated by Nimrod Bar-Am.“There is the matter of missing,” Yannay suggests. “You always take a photograph a moment after you would have wanted to take it,” he adds somewhat enigmatically. Apparently that is partly down to plain old mechanics.
