2 strong quakes strike southern Greece

Two strong earthquakes struck southern Greece Thursday, with the first felt as far away as Egypt and southern Italy. No damage or injuries were immediately reported. The first quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.5, hit just after noon, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said. The second temblor, which seismologists said was likely a "very strong aftershock of the first," hit about two hours later, the institute said.
