Afghanistan: Attack wounds two Canadian soldiers

Two rockets fired by insurgents slammed into a coalition base in southern Afghanistan, wounding two Canadian soldiers and some others, a coalition spokesman said Saturday. The attack happened at the coalition base in Kandahar at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and the wounded soldiers were listed in a stable condition, coalition spokesman Maj. Quentin Innis told The Associated Press. Maj. Mark Therianult, spokesman for the Canadian forces in the troubled south, also confirmed the attack, and said they had sent their two wounded Canadian soldiers to Germany for further treatment.
