Responding to media speculation of an impending visit by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Germany for the 2006 Soccer World Cup, scheduled for June 9 through July 9, a spokesman at the German Embassy in Tel Aviv said Berlin has "no official information according to which the president of Iran would wish to visit Germany. Officials in Teheran have, on the contrary, denied such reports which had appeared in the media."
