At least one dead, 10 injured when ferry sinks off Turkey's coast

A ferry carrying trucks to Istanbul and with more than 150 people has sunk in the Marmara Sea, leaving at least one person dead, according to Turkish officials and reports late Sunday. The local governor said the ferry - loaded with more than 70 trucks - went down shortly after leaving the port of Bandirma. The private Dogan news agency said that at least one person drowned while 10 people were taken to a hospital in Bandirma. Authorities estimate there were some 150 people on board. Ambulances and teams of divers were dispatched to Bandirma, Kanal 24 television reported.
