Egypt declared Monday that it would continue to supply electricity to the Gaza Strip. The announcement followed a European Union decision to suspend fuel payments to the Gaza power plant out of suspicion that some electricity revenues could be going to Hamas. "No one has the right to deny the Palestinians their basic needs and Egypt is obligated to provide them," read a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
