Three killed, six wounded in suspected US missile strike in Pakistan

Two local security officials on Wednesday said a suspected US missile strike just before midnight Tuesday killed at least three people in a Pakistani tribal region near the Afghan border. The officials said at least six people were also wounded as missiles struck a home near Mir Ali, which is a central town in North Waziristan. No Pakistani military spokesman was immediately available to confirm the strike. Ignoring Pakistan's protest, US-led forces in recent months have carried out several such strikes to target al-Qaida linked militants.
