UN rights chief calls on Iran to halt execution of 4 juvenile offenders

The UN rights chief has called on Iran to stay the execution of four juvenile offenders. Louise Arbour says the four men were all under 18 years of age when they committed murders and should therefore not be executed. Two international treaties Iran has signed up to forbid the execution of juvenile offenders. A statement issued Tuesday by Arbour's office in Geneva encouraged Iranian authorities to seek a settlement between the perpetrators and the victims' families.
