Marzipan, one of Jerusalem's best-known bakeries, famed for their sticky, delicious rugelach, is expanding to the United States, according to a website post.
"At last – the incredibly delicious, super-chocolaty rugelach that draw legions of customers to Jerusalem’s famed Marzipan Bakery are now available in the US. Enjoy them fresh or frozen," the website statement said.
According to the website, the pastries would be available at four locations of Gourmet Glatt in New York and New Jersey.
In a Thursday posting on their Facebook site, Gourmet Glatt confirmed that "We are proud to exclusively carry Marzipan Rugeluch from Israel."
In 2012, The Jerusalem Post
named Marzipan the top bakery in Jerusalem, noting its 'gooey rugelach" as the centerpiece of its baked goods.
