US President Donald Trump took to Facebook Sunday to wish "all Jewish people in the United States and around the world a sweet and peaceful New Year!"
Trump was not the only US government official to send New Year's greetings on social media. His daughter Ivanka Trump, who is Jewish, took to Twitter to wish Jewish people all over the world "shana tova u'metuka!"
US Ambassador David Friedman released a tongue-in-cheek video on Youtube for the holiday in which he allegedly goes to Jerusalem's famed open air market Mahane Yehuda in search for a jar of honey to dip apples in for the new year.
After Israel, the United States is the home to the largest Jewish community on the planet with 5.7 million Jewish souls calling it home.
