Three men suspected of brutally attacking American Jewish students and volunteers on a Lake Kinneret beach last week are still at large and are being sought by police.
During the attack on Friday night, two students were set upon by a large gang of intoxicated thugs, and sustained several injuries. One student, Isaac, had to undergo a series of brain and body scans after being struck repeatedly with a chair, rocks, and a metal pole.
Tiberias police detectives have launched a manhunt for the three suspects. Officers arrived at the home of one suspect on Monday, only to be told by his father that "his son hasn't come home," a police source said.
Two additional suspects had left their homes as well, the source added.
One suspect, 25, of Kiryat Ata, has been arrested.
Officers allowed two vehicles containing the attackers to drive away from the scene of the assault on Friday, after being told by the suspects that they were the ones who were under attack.
The officers noted the cars' license plates before they drove away.
