Arad Police kill Sergei Kortov, 39, as he tries to cut ex-wife's throat

Police in Arad shot and killed local resident Sergei Kortov, 39, Friday evening after he attempted to kill his ex-wife.
A patrol was scrambled to the woman's apartment after neighbors saw her ex-husband holding a knife to her throat. The police reportedly tried to stop him from harming her, but when it became clear that he was determined to harm her, one of the officers shot him.
Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived on the scene pronounced him dead, while his ex-wife sustained light wounds.
Police were investigating the incident.
