Boy drowned by his mother is laid to rest at Kibbutz Brenner

A small gathering of shocked and bereaved family members arrived at a rustic cemetery in Kibbutz Brenner, south of Rishon Lezion on Sunday to bury four-year-old Alon Yehuda, who was drowned by his mother in the Mediterranean Sea on Friday night. "I will never forget you Alon," a broken voice, belonging to Alon's father, Ilan, said. Rahel, the boy's grandmother, was pushed by a daughter in a wheelchair towards the grave. "Alon, how can this happen?" she asked in a heart-wrenching cry. Olga Borisov, Alon's mother, had appealed to the Petah Tikva District Court to attend the funeral. Her request was rejected, but Borisov's lawyer, Tali Gotman, appealed to the High Court. That too was rejected.
