A huge wildfire was burning through fields and avocado orchards in the western Galilee on Tuesday.
Firefighters were refusing to fight the blaze, declaring they were on strike over unpaid salaries. The firefighters in the western Galilee have not received their salaries on time in three years.
Spokesmen for the firefighters confirmed that they would battle the blaze only in cases in which the fire threatened human life.
