Hit and run kills elderly Jerusalem pedestrian

An Arab truck driver with 38 past traffic convictions killed an 88-year-pedestrian who was crossing the street at a cross-walk on a central Jerusalem thoroughfare on Tuesday, police said. The driver, a resident of east Jerusalem, fled the scene but was apprehended by traffic police at the exit to the city. The late-afternoon city hit and run took place on Bar-Illan St.
