An IAF aircraft attacked a car traveling in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, killing one of the most wanted terror operatives in Gaza, Palestinian officials said. The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) said Abu Said Qarmout, its leader in northern Gaza, was killed in the air strike. The PRC has fired hundreds of rockets into southern Israel, frequently sparking IAF air strikes and military reprisals. The group, which has close ties to Hamas, said Qarmout had previously escaped four other attempts to kill him. The IDF confirmed it had attacked a "PRC activist." Dr. Moaiya Hassanain, a Health Ministry official in Gaza, said two other people were wounded in the airstrike in Beit Lahiye, a town frequently used by Palestinian terrorists to fire rockets into Israel.
