A helicopter gunship fired a rocket into a vehicle in Gaza's Jabalya refugee camp Thursday night, immediately killing a wanted Islamic Jihad terrorist and three others in the car.
Military sources confirmed the strike, but would not immediately release further details.
Palestinians claimed the killed activist was Mahdi Shehada.
The targeted interception came as Israel launched a broad offensive against Palestinian terror organizations following Wednesday's deadly suicide bombing in Hadera that killed five Israelis and injured over 20.
