The military appeals court at IDF Headquarters on Friday morning sentenced Col. Atef Zaher to six years in prison for the rape of a female soldier who had served under his command.
Zaher was demoted to the rank of private, and he will be forced to pay his accuser 35,000 NIS compensation.
