IDF soldiers killed an Aksa Martyrs Brigades operative in Jenin refugee camp overnight Saturday. The operative, identified as 22-year-old Mohammad Amin Paraha'ati, was the commander of communications between al-Aksa and the Islamic Jihad, the IDF said. The army reported that troops shot Paraha'ati after they came under fire during operations in the area. Earlier Saturday evening, Nahal Brigade troops shot and killed an armed Palestinian in the Casbah of Nablus. The man was carrying an M-16 rifle, the army said. Another gunman, spotted in the same area, was shot and wounded by troops. The IDF did not suffer any casualties. Also Saturday, IDF soldiers shot two civilians working at a garbage dump near the Gaza security fence, east of Kissufim. The IDF said that soldiers had shot the two after they failed to heed the troops' calls to stop. According to the soldiers, the men were acting in a suspicious manner. Meanwhile, soldiers arrested an armed Palestinian after they spotted a suspicious vehicle while on patrol southwest of Kalkilya. When the troops approached the driver, he threw several improvised weapons out of the car. After searching the vehicle, soldiers discovered two knives and a cudgel. The weapons were confiscated and the Palestinian was transferred to the police for questioning. The improvised weapons were destroyed by sappers. On Friday, IDF troops shot and killed two Palestinian youths near the Gaza security fence. The IDF said that Ahmed Abu Zeibeida and Zaher al-Majdalawi, both 13, were acting in "suspicious manner" and had planted an object next to the fence. The boys, Palestinians said, had told their families they were going to the beach. A third boy was wounded and taken to an Israeli hospital in moderate condition. Also Friday, Fawzi Abu Mustafa, a top Islamic Jihad terrorist in Gaza, was killed in an IAF missile strike as he rode on his motorcycle in southern Gaza. The IDF said that Abu Mustafa was responsible for a number of attacks against IDF soldiers and Israelis including shooting and roadside bomb attacks.
