Israel sends aid to Nigeria to help with bird flu

Israel sent some 1.5 tons of equipment to Nigeria Tuesday to help that country deal with an outbreak of the "bird flu." The emergency equipment includes medical supplies and protective gear such as gloves. According to the Foreign Ministry, Nigerian officials contacted Noam Katz, Israel's ambassador in Abuja, about the possibility of receiving assistance. The equipment was sent on a regular commercial flight from Tel-Aviv to London, and then from London to Nigeria.
