Jerusalem murder suspect remanded through arraignment

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Thursday extended by four days the remand in custody of a 21-year-old Israeli man suspected of murdering his father in their city flat, police said. Avior Avraham was remanded in custody through his expected indictment on Sunday. Avraham is suspected of killing his father in their apartment in the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo on May 25. The alleged murderer told police investigators that he decided to kill his father after he commented on his lifestyle, the police said. A psychiatric evaluation has determined that Avraham is fit to stand trial.
