Former deputy chief of general staff, MK Matan Vilna'i (Labor), on Sunday backed the decision to launch the commando raid in Baalbek saying that Hizbullah was the first party not to abide by its commitments.
Speaking to Army Radio, Vilna'i said, "The State of Israel must defend itself even when a cease-fire is in effect. Operations must be conducted in order to prevent the rearmament of Hizbullah, especially on the main artery - Lebanon's border with Syria."
