A 60-year-old man in Netanya allegedly assaulted a woman and attempted to take his own life on Tuesday after his offer of marriage was rejected. Emergency services were called after neighbors heard shouts in their apartment building. Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated the woman to Laniado Hospital in Netanya. The woman said a man in the apartment she emerged from had attacked her. Police officers who arrived on the scene found the door to the apartment locked. Officers proceeded to use a ladder to climb into the apartment, where they discovered the man bleeding from his wrists after an apparent suicide attempt. He was rushed to Laniado Hospital in moderate condition.
