Officer sentenced to 100 hours community service for hitting detainee

The Haifa Magistrates Court sentenced on Tuesday a police officer who had been convicted of hitting a detainee while the man was handcuffed to 100 hours of community service. The incident occurred in 2005, and the officer has since been dismissed from his job, and has started studying at the Technion. The ex-officer was also ordered to pay the man who was hit NIS 10,000, and will also have to undergo anger management counseling.
