"The last thing Israel needs is early elections," Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Monday, reiterating his statement that he did not intend to resign following the publication of the Winograd Committee's report on the Second Lebanon War, which found Olmert - as well as Defense Minister Amir Peretz and Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz - personally responsible for the war's failures.
