A Palestinian in his 20s was killed during an IDF operation in the Nablus neighborhood of Ras al-Ein on Wednesday evening, according to Palestinian sources. The troops were attempting to arrest another man, Ja'afar Juara, and fired on several Palestinians in the area. Juara was a member of Fatah's Aksa Martyrs Brigades and was freed in a past prisoner release. He was arrested together with Sha'aban Abu Jabr, also a Fatah gunman. Abu Jabr was released on August 25 along with 197 other security prisoners in a goodwill gesture to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. According to Palestinians, the casualty was hit in the leg and was left to bleed to death. Palestinians also claimed a teen was seriously wounded. The army said it was looking into the Palestinian reports on the incident. Abu Jabr was not the first terrorist rearrested after being released by Israel. On August 28, security forces operating in Nablus captured Mahmoud Lubada, an Aksa Martyrs Brigades and Tanzim member who was recently given amnesty in return for promising to lay down his arms.
