Peres, Peretz discuss former's position in Labor

Labor Chairman Amir Peretz met with his predecessor MK Shimon Peres Wednesday to discuss Peres's position in the party. During the meeting no promises were made although Peretz called it "a good meeting," and said they would meet again in a few days. The current and former Labor Party chairmen discussed the current political situation in israel and exchanged ideas over what was needed of political leadership. Before the meeting Peres told The Jerusalem Post that he saw several options for himself, but remained vague over whether he was committed to staying in Labor. A few days earlier he told the Post that he was taking a short vacation but that he was certainly returning to political life.
