Police seize Gaza-bound boat, truck with humanitarian aid

Police on Sunday morning prevented a boat from sailing to the Gaza strip from Jaffa with humanitarian aid. The boat, which was meant to set sail Sunday morning from Jaffa Port to the Gaza Strip with several Arab MKs aboard, was seized by the police, who transferred it to the Tel Aviv Marine Police. In addition, the police seized a truck with medicine and supplies, and detained three people for questioning. Peace activists, including the Arab MKs, planned to dock Sunday in Gaza to 'break the Israeli-imposed siege' on Gaza, one day before the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, or the "Feast of the Sacrifice." Police forces explained that they acted according to Disengagement legislation, which rules that no Israeli may enter Gaza without appropriate authorization.
