Protesting university presidents announce semester won't begin on time

The new university semester will not begin on its scheduled date of November 2, the Council of University Presidents announced Tuesday in an e-mail sent to students.
The university presidents are demanding additional resources from the government in accordance with the Shochat Committee plan.
"Unfortunately, under the conditions created following negotiations with the Finance Ministry, we won't be able to open the academic year," read the announcement.
