Report: Olmert aide says prime minister will step down Sunday

A Jerusalem official close to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told Israel Radio that the premier will resign from his post on Sunday.
This would leave only a day and half for President Shimon Peres to hold consultations leading to the selection of an MK that would be responsible for drawing up a new government.
The president must consult with every faction leader within a week but Peres is scheduled to leave Israel for the UN General Assembly on Monday.
