Report: PM plans to continue building in existing settlements

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu plans to allow building in existing West Bank settlements, but not to build new ones, according to a Channel 10 report. The station reported that Netanyahu said in closed talks that Israel would also clamp down on illegal settlements. The issue would remain a responsibility of the Defense Ministry as it was during the previous government, according to the report. The station quoted Netanyahu as saying that "if the Arabs can build in the West Bank it is inconceivable that Jews won't be able to build there." The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the veracity of the report.
