Rose Pizem to be laid to rest Monday

Rose Pizem, whose remains were found two weeks ago after a lengthy search in the Yarkon River in Tel Aviv, will be buried in Paris on Monday at the behest of her father and grandmother, who requested that her body be flown back for burial there. Rose's grandfather and mother, Ronnie Ron and Marie Pizem, have been arrested in connection with the four-year-old girl's death, after Ron initially admitted to the crime, backing away from his confession days before the girl's remains were found. Her mother, who was romantically involved with Ron, has maintained her innocence throughout the case - a claim police have repeatedly cast doubt upon. Charges against the pair were supposed to be filed last week, but police sources told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday that they were still concluding their investigation, and indictments would be filed in a matter of days. A representative of the French Foreign Ministry is scheduled to attend the funeral, while the French consul in Israel has said that that the French government would fund the transport of Rose's body from Israel to France.
