Druse former minister Saleh Tarif will replace Amram Mitzna, who quite politics last week, as Knesset member for the Labor party, Army Radio reported.
After being appointed Minister without Portfolio in 2001, thus becoming the first non-Jewish minister in an Israeli government, Tarif was indicted on several counts of bribery, corruption and breach of trust. Tarif was sentenced to 24 months in prison.
