Soldier killed in training accident

Givati live-fire military exercise in the Negev halted after tragedy.

A Givati soldier was killed Thursday morning in a training accident in the Negev.
The unit was participating in a live-fire training session when he was accidentally shot and died of his wounds.
IDF has launched a military police investigation into the incident.
In December, Cpl. Mor Cohen, 18-years-old at the time, was killed in a training accidentat an urban warfare training facility in the Golan Heights.
The findings of a military probe into the death of Cpl. Cohen were presented to IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi in February.
Assaf Ramon was killed in a tragic air accident in September. He was class valedictorian in his air force pilot's course and the son of Israeli astronaut Col. Ilan Ramon - who was killed in the fatal NASA Columbia mission in 2003.
