Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi called on regional Muslims and countries to reveal the locations of US and Israeli military assets to enable Tehran to conduct more accurate attacks, the Iranian state-affiliated Defa Press reported on Wednesday.
Shekarchi also framed the request as a way to ensure the safety of the people in the region.
“I call on the Muslim people of the region and the countries of the region to show us the hideouts of US and Zionist forces so that they themselves will not be harmed, and so that we can strike them more precisely," Shekarchi said.
The spokesperson went on to assert that the US and Israel were using the people in the region as "human shields."
"In this way, the people of the region will be safe from the crushing blows of our armed forces, and we can also free these people from the United States and Israel,” Shekarchi added.
He went on to say that “such cooperation can establish security in the region,” and urged people in the region not to shield US forces.
“We ask the Muslim people of the region not to become shields for the invading US army so that, God willing, we can more effectively, more strongly, and more quickly remove the Americans from the region,” he said.
Shekarchi also accused Washington and Jerusalem of purposely targeting civilians.
“The criminal US army and the Zionist regime, which are unable to confront our armed forces and every day suffer heavy losses under the powerful strikes of our forces, are, out of desperation and inability to face our military, shedding the blood of ordinary people; our women, innocent children, and men,” he said.
He said attacks had taken place in Tehran on consecutive days.
“As part of these actions, two shameless and savage crimes were committed in Tehran yesterday and today,” Shekarchi said.
Warnings of retaliation against the 'American-Zionist enemies'
Addressing what he described as “American-Zionist enemies,” Shekarchi warned of retaliation.
“We tell them to expect crushing blows in retaliation for these savage acts. Soon we will avenge these actions and deliver very severe strikes against them,” he said.
Shekarchi also accused the United States of hypocrisy regarding its stated support for the Iranian public.
“The criminal United States and the lying, delusional Trump launched this aggression under the slogan of supporting the Iranian people. Now those same people whom the Americans falsely claimed they wanted to support are being killed and bloodied under American bombing and missile strikes,” he said.
