Students, teachers demonstrate over gov't plans to 'violate agreements'

About 100 students held a demonstration on Arlozorov Street in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening, in protest over plans to raise academic tuition by NIS 1,000 per year. The students criticized the government for not respecting agreements signed earlier this year, and held signs carrying slogans such as "The Anti-ignorance HQ" and "Stop the Brain Drain." The students, who were joined by high-school teachers, then went on to march towards Kikar ha'Medina. Large police forces secured the demonstration.
