In June 2009, a young student photographed the crowds on the streets of Tehran.

After election day, people poured into the streets to protest the results, and the regime retaliated. Many innocent civilians were killed and countless others were arrested. Over the last 30 years more than a million people have fled Iran due to increased political tension, oppression of freedom and threat to their lives and livelihood. As an artist now studying in the US, he hopes to eventually make a movie about the story of his country to show the world what happened there – something he would not be able to do if his identity is revealed. Now, he makes those incredible photos available to The Jerusalem Post.
