NORTH Thousands of people are expected to hit the pavement and run for a good cause at the donor-sponsored “Get Out and Run” event in Haifa on April 21. For each kilometer run by participants in what is said to be a “fun and beautiful” route around the northern port city, NIS 20 will be donated by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews to a philanthropic cause. Runners are encouraged to run as many times as they can around the circular two-kilometer route that starts in Gan Ha'em before turning around near the Yefe Nof Garden. Before the athletic event starts, participants will be able to choose from a list of social charity projects to which they would like the funds to go. More than 50 leading Israeli and international DJs are due to take part in the non-stop 72-hour Doof Festival starting today (April 14) and lasting until Sunday (April 16) at Golan Beach on the shores of Lake Kinneret. Headlining the psychedelic celebration of nature music are international artists including Sweden's Logic Bomb, Russia's Parasense, Italy's Arjuna, US-based ECT and more. CENTER Docaviv coming to TA big screen More than 100 films will be screened in this year's 19th annual Docaviv documentary cinema festival in Tel Aviv taking place in May. Piano masters to compete in the White City More than 30 pianists from Israel and around the world will strike a chord at this year's 15th annual Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, taking place April 25 to May 11 in Tel Aviv. The competition, which has taken place every three years since 1974, seeks to promote the musical careers of outstanding young pianists. Starting out on April 20 from Cinema City Glilot near Herzliya, motorcyclists will set off on a 350-kilometer journey to the southern Red Sea resort town.
