Al-Qaida claims responsibility for Yemen suicide bomb that killed policeman

Al-Qaida in Yemen has claimed responsibility for a suicide car bomb that killed a policeman in eastern Yemen.
In a statement posted Sunday on an Islamic Web site, the terror group said Friday's attack was carried out by "martyr Ahmed bin Said bin Omar al-Mishjari" against "slaves and the apostate guards" in Hadramawt province.
The policeman was killed when a suicide car bomber rammed a vehicle into the Interior Ministry's regional headquarters. Eight others were injured.
The statement's authenticity couldn't be verified, however it was published on a Web site commonly used by al-Qaida.
Al-Qaida continues to have an active presence in Yemen, the ancestral homeland of Osama bin Laden.
