Egyptian forces kill 28 terrorists in Sinai

Egyptian security officials told a Ma'an reporter in El-Arish on Tuesday that 200 more houses would be destroyed to complete the 500 meter buffer zone.

Egyptian security forces killed 28 terrorists in Sinai on Thursday as part of ongoing operations in the region, Egyptian state news agency MENA reported.
Security forces also arrested six security suspects during the crackdown, which focused on the city of El-Arish, which is located approximately 50 km. from the Rafah crossing to the Gaza Strip, as well as Sheikh Zuwaid and Rafah.
Two people were killed on Thursday in an attack on a youth center in the Kerdasa neighborhood of Giza city. Magdy al-Shalaqani, director of the civil protection administration in Giza, told the Aswat Masriya website that the unidentified assailants attacked the Nahia Youth Center with Molotov cocktails, burning down the building.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian army destroyed 1,020 houses in the city of Rafah in the second stage of its plan to build a buffer zone along its border with the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, Egyptian helicopters killed nine suspected terrorists in Sinai.
Security forces said three gunmen were also killed when a booby-trapped vehicle accidentally exploded in Sheikh Zuweid, reported Ma’an.
